A BIT ABOUT ME...

Ā

Hey! Im Tawhiwhi-

Wife to one (incredible hubby), mother to one (very cute & often very screechy 18 month old)- and I suppose I should count our lovable dog, Oscar, too!Ā Most importantly, I’m a daughter of a loving and gracious God, walking a beautiful (but far from glamorous) journey of learning what it truly means to be a Godly wife and mother.Ā

I believe that every wife & mother should know their God given purpose within these roles. That through it we bring glory to the Lord and love, joy & peaceĀ to our homes. Believe me when I say I spent a long time not bringing peace, joy and love to our home because of my brokenness, pride & unsurrendered heart. I don't know about you, but as beautiful as this journey is, it is also the most difficult & sanctifying process of my life.Ā The Lord has had to do a lot of work to mould this lump of clay (painful but necessary and still very much being moulded!).Ā

In the midst of this journey I longed and searched for a place to turn to- somewhere honest, encouraging and faith filled- somewhere where I didn't feel so alone with the things I was struggling with. That's why I createdĀ Faithfully Formed-Ā a space for authentic personal stories & insights, biblical encouragement & wisdom that helps you feel less alone in your own journey.

Take heart friend! Your hope is in the Lord.Ā

A little more about us...

We live in the beautiful Far North of Aotearoa, New Zealand- and recently relocated here from the busy streets of Auckland. We're big foodies at heart, so you’ll often find us baking, cooking, or eating. We love going on little adventures, sight seeing and exploring.Ā

I’m part Māori (Ngāi TÅ«hoe) and NZ European, and my husband is Indian from South Africa — though he’s called New Zealand home for over 20 years.Ā

Before becoming a wife and mother, I spent nearly a decade working as a Registered Nurse. Eventually, I felt the Lord leading me in a new direction. This led me to complete a year-long Bible college course, and I later joined the faith-based charitable organisation my husband was leading at the time— working to support families with emotional wellness tools and Christ-centred care.

We’re deeply passionate about helping others heal from trauma and walk in freedom, wholeness, and restoration through Jesus.

You can check out what my husband is doing at [The Formational].Ā
